Collateral Hearts

Ahhh, Sybal Heim continues to run away with my art muse.

I was doing some concept sketches and development for Leopoldo Amadori (Tristine's most recent ex-lover—and by "recent" I mean "over a century ago") since he's going to factor into some side-plot/personal story arc stuff coming up for Tris. So of course I thought I'd try a harmless quick little fluff doodle.

Famous last words...

There's a whole lot I could unpack about Tris and Leo's relationship—former and current—but I'll try not to ramble on long. Put simply, Tris takes affairs of the heart very seriously. If at any point she feels like either she or her partner are going about things the wrong way, she's usually quick to address the issue. But when she got it into her head that she was "settling" for Leo since he was more accessible than Theo was, she didn't end things right away. She's a very physical person, and she enjoyed having someone to snuggle and smooch (etc...). But as time passed, her feelings for Theo only got stronger, and finally she couldn't stomach the idea that she was using Leo rather than committing herself to him heart and soul. It was her first time ending a relationship without really explaining why.
