The Diablo III fanart continues!
[DIABLO III SPOILER WARNING]
The ending of Diablo III
is really what cinched my appreciation of its story. I have an obvious love for the "innocent-yet-battling-evil-internal-forces" character type (as seen in my own Zalost
, Lia Nara
, and Sin
), and I got so much more attached to Leah when she turned into Diablo.
Unfortunately, the people at Blizzard just killed her off after that. :/ I was majorly disappointed, since I wanted to see some kind of internal struggle against him on Leah's part. So, of course, I have this new headcanon that at some point during the final battle she intervened and distracted Diablo at a key moment, allowing the Nephilim to strike him down. She still ends up dead, but at least it mattered. :'7
I've also recently finished the book Diablo III: The Order, which is set thirteen years before the events of the game, so I decided to portray little 8-year-old Leah (who is adorbs, albeit kind of scary) instead of her normal look. And the scale is kind of off, since I think Diablo is a bit bigger than that...
Whew...I think I can move on now. Brain, you so silly, getting invested in fictional characters. Though I suppose that's what makes games fun to me. C:
