Description
Never fails, when I tell myself I'm going to get writing done, I draw. When I sit down to draw, I pull up my story notes. *sigh* Brain! Stoppit! Fortunately, this evening that meant an environment practice! Originally sketched in pencil (right above this drawing)...also during class. 
I really want to practice painting quickly. I so admire environment concept artists who can capture and compose an idea while it's fresh in the mind, using the briefest of strokes and just the right textures. I just get so caught up in details. Blargh.
Aaanyhow, more Rippling Lake stuff. A broad view of Rippling Lake, the Glass Cliffs, and a few districts of the lakeside city of Ceita, in which the story takes place. Countless boats light up the Rippling Lake, affording their passengers a spectacular view of the Founder's Day Fireworks. The house belongs to the second main character (well...to her family), the figure standing at the railing there.

I love this picture and being able to see such a broad view out over the lake with the firework's reflections glittering on its surface. For some reason this reminds me of flying in to Mexico City at night, with all of the lights, and the dark spots where the water is. I love all of the details and being able to see Aira and her house
