Rock Tutorialby *Art-Zealot

I was persuaded (nay, bribed) to put this together by ~sirdubdub, in exchange for a chance to pick his brains about Flash animation.

I've been drawing a lot of rocks lately, and I've fallen into a method that's both fast and fairly effective at looking rock-like. If the images aren't enough, then you're in luck! I recorded the screen as I drew, so the video is up on YouTube (though the video quality leaves much to be desired, apologies).

Note: This tutorial is geared towards Photoshop users, but I hope the content is applicable in general.

Ah rocks! I was actually going to search some tutorials on rocks since a good portion of my audition will also involve drawing the insides of caves and what not. Very useful. : D

Ooooo wow!!!!! This looks so helpful, thanks so much for this! The moment i actually start drawing again (sad lack of time and inspiration at the mo) i'm going to have to try this!!! I don't know how easy it would be, but could you do some kind of tutorial for woodland backgrounds? I'm in love with your forests but i'm not sure how easy it would be to do a tutorial?
