The 100 Theme Challenge (Var 1) # 34: Stars

Thparkle, thparkle! I love drawing stars, though I'm still not fully satisfied with the sky's sparkliness. :\ It looked better as a PSD...

I knew as soon as I saw the theme that I wanted to draw the Praedran sky. The Praed is a country from the same RP as my character Kristine (who lurks somewhere in my gallery), and it consists mostly of flat, grassy prairies and savannah. Needless to say, the star-filled night sky is one of its most famous features, stretching fully overhead and illuminating the grass--moon or no moon.

The woman chilling out in the breeze is Natué, an albino Praedran (most of them have pretty dark skin) and an important side character in the RP's story. She belongs to a group called Theyerillae, one of two ancient Praedran clans who have warred for centuries. The Theyerillae embody the night, and Natué--her skin too sensitive for the hot Praedran sun--was more than happy to join their ranks. Later in the story, she becomes Kristine's tutor, after Kristine herself is initiated as a Theyerillae.
